Computer usage by the population aged 2+ increased by 8.8% compared to December, due to the resumption of school and work routines after the various holiday breaks that characterize the last month of the year.

Delving into the details of online user profiles on the average day of this survey month, 65.6% of men and 61.3% of women aged 2 and above were online via the detected devices, with a high level of engagement (at least 83%) for age groups from 18 to 64 years. Mobile usage among the population aged 18-74 represents, as seen previously, the main mode of internet access and, in January, covers 88.3% of the total time spent online, with a significant distribution of time spent per person across all age groups. An interesting and consolidated fact is the higher engagement of women (2 hours and 52 minutes) and among the younger demographic (3 hours recorded among 18 to 34-year-olds), with intervals approaching - in the case of 55-74-year-olds - or exceeding two and a half hours - in the case of 35-54-year-olds.

Focusing on online usage on the average day of January based on different geographical areas, it appears that 10.5 million individuals from the Northwest area (67.1% of the population aged 2+ in this area), 7.4 million from the Northeast area (64.9%), 7.4 million from the Central area (63.6%), and 11.7 million from the South and Islands area (59.5%) navigated online.
