Il 2020 è stato l’anno dell’emergenza Covid-19, un anno devastante per l’intero settore del Turismo.
Uno scenario mondiale senza precedenti che ha innescato il crollo delle prenotazioni e il totale incremento delle cancellazioni con ripercussioni immediate su tutti gli operatori del settore.
Tuttavia, anche uno scenario innovativo per il digital travel.
Secondo alcune ricerche di inizio anno condotte sulle tendenze relative al settore alberghiero, il 2021 già sembrava promettere una stagione turistica incoraggiante, confermata ufficialmente nella giornata di domenica 4 luglio 2021 in cui si è registrato il nuovo record storico assoluto di prenotazioni per un valore superiore ai 3 milioni di euro, una crescita notevole se paragonata al massimo storico precedente di poco più di 2 milioni registrato nel 2019.
Si è riscontrato come siano state le campagne Ppc (Pay per click) a giocare un ruolo fondamentale nella ripartenza, sottolineando oramai come il mondo digitale sia stato promotore ed acceleratore della ripresa alberghiera. All’interno della distribuzione elettronica, il canale a maggior crescita, infatti, è stato proprio il sito ufficiale della singola struttura.
Questa è stata una lampante dimostrazione della velocità con cui le aziende sono riuscite ad adattarsi, e a essere sempre presenti nel processo decisionale per ottimizzare i risultati nei momenti che contano.
La carta vincente è stato l’approccio digitale innovativo “Always On” adottato da molti operatori del settore, opposto alla generale tendenza della totale sospensione di qualsiasi campagna turistica on-line - considerata superflua durante un periodo di tale crisi - il quale ha permesso di raggiungere due importanti obiettivi:
- La visibilità assoluta e ininterrotta – appunto “always on” - dei siti ufficiali degli hotel in un momento di grande necessità, nonostante gli scarsissimi volumi di conversione;
- La capacità delle campagne di affrontare con le massime performance i grandi volumi di richieste al momento della ripartenza del mercato, disintermediando e spostando gli acquisti sui siti ufficiali, a chiaro vantaggio degli hotel.
La strategia Always On ha dunque garantito alle campagne PPC circa quattro mesi di visibilità incontrastata con una percentuale di visualizzazione degli annunci prossima al 100%, propedeutica non solo agli acquisti, ma anche a tutte quelle fasi di “sogno” e di pianificazione che giocano un ruolo importante nel Customer Journey.
