Sicuramente ognuno di noi si sarà imbattuto, nella ricerca sfrenata di qualche prodotto, all’interno della Rete Shopping di Google. Se vi state domandando dove si trova questa Rete Shopping, la troverete tra le varie etichette che appaiono in alto nel motore di ricerca Google sotto la voce Shopping. Non solo, qualche annuncio lo avrete sicuramente trovato sotto l’etichetta tutti contraddistinto dalla voce sponsorizzati.
Ma cos’è Google Shopping? È un motore di ricerca dedicato alla vendita di prodotti che permette di comparare i vari prezzi degli articoli ed effettuare ricerche sul prodotto di nostro interesse. Gli annunci degli inserzionisti possono apparire all’interno della scheda dedicata allo Shopping, nella parte superiore della pagina e anche nella colonna di destra. Questi annunci sono subito riconoscibili perché, oltre al testo, contengono un prezzo e un’immagine: rappresentano perciò un ottimo strumento per tutte quelle attività che sono presenti in rete con un sito eCommerce e lo vogliono promuovere.
Le due piattaforme su cui si basa Google Shopping sono Google Ads e Google Merchant Center. La prima permette di gestire l’impostazione della campagna mentre la seconda permette di caricare un catalogo prodotti tramite un feed di dati, ovvero le informazioni dei nostri prodotti formattate in modo da poter essere lette da Google. Va ricordato che la configurazione degli annunci Shopping è ben diversa da quella di annunci di testo tradizionale.
Con gli annunci di testo l’intento è intercettare gli utenti attraverso le keywords che scegliamo, invece, con uno strumento come Google Shopping, lo stesso Google decide quando vengono visualizzati gli annunci con scheda di prodotto tenendo in considerazione il tuo feed, il tuo sito e le tue offerte per determinare quali query di ricerca attivano i tuoi annunci. Google mostra questa tipologia di annunci solo quando pensa che l’utente stia cercando un prodotto per acquistarlo quindi in genere il tasso di conversione è più alto rispetto ad altre campagne.
Come dicevamo prima le campagne Shopping hanno un’impostazione diversa da quella delle campagne tradizionali su Google, infatti richiedono una maggiore conoscenza tecnica. I dati dei nostri prodotti vanno caricati su Google Merchant Center e questo si può fare in diversi modi, comunemente si tratta di un file in formato xml che viene spesso aggiornato e letto periodicamente da Google. Questa operazione viene normalmente eseguita in maniera automatizzata tramite un plugin aggiunto all’interno dei CMS più diffusi, in diretta comunicazione con l’account di Google Merchant Center. I dati di prodotto vengono esportati in Google Merchant, che a sua volta viene collegato all’account Google Ads.
Indubbiamente questa tipologia di campagne rappresenta un’opportunità per gli eCommerce: tra i vantaggi, oltre a raggiungere gli acquirenti mentre cercano un prodotto e un controllo automatico delle informazioni caricate sul feed, abbiamo la possibilità di sfruttare il remarketing.
Con il remarketing “tradizionale” raggiungiamo le persone che hanno già interagito con la nostra attività senza mostrargli i prodotti effettivi per i quali hanno mostrato interesse: cosa che è invece possibile con il remarketing dinamico. Implementando nel codice del sito web i relativi tag, permettiamo a Google di raccogliere i dati tra cui gli ID dei prodotti o servizi che gli utenti hanno visualizzato e il valore totale degli elementi. Google Ads utilizza questi dati per mostrare annunci personalizzati ai visitatori del tuo sito web e ricordare loro la visita al tuo sito. Ed è questo il motivo per cui quando visitiamo determinate pagine prodotto e successivamente navighiamo in altri siti veniamo inseguiti dai prodotti che abbiamo visto o cercato.
