The Numbers from the 19th Edition of the Netcomm Forum
The numbers speak for themselves: with a record of over 30,000 participants on May 8th and 9th, the 19th edition of the Netcomm Forum reaffirmed its status as the leading event for digital retail in Italy. Held at Allianz MiCo in Milan last week, the event featured over 300 companies as sponsors and exhibitors, and more than 350 speakers from various business sectors.
Impressions from the NetComm Forum 2024
Beyond the numbers, let's look at the content: from May 8th to 9th, three plenary conferences were held, and there were over 200 sessions including conferences, workshops, and roundtables, all now available for streaming on the website. The event's theme, "The Intelligence Commerce. Composable & Fluid," provided a valuable opportunity to explore the ongoing reconfiguration of retail, a continuously evolving process that requires dynamic and flexible approaches, integrating technologies such as AI, Blockchain, Automation, Extended Reality, and Social Commerce.
Among the studies presented at the event, notable ones include the second edition of the "Delivery Index" by Netcomm in collaboration with Poste Italiane, the latest findings from the Netcomm B2C eCommerce Observatory - School of Management at Politecnico di Milano, the Netcomm Observatory in collaboration with Cribis, and the new edition of Netcomm NetRetail These studies, along with many others presented, provided valuable insights for better understanding the market and guiding business strategies. As stated by Roberto Liscia, President of Netcomm, "The studies presented during the event provide a valuable database of information for companies and entrepreneurs, allowing them to develop flexible, scalable, and innovative growth strategies for their businesses.”
Despite the undeniable innovative nature and advanced technologies represented at the Netcomm Forum, the impression after this latest edition is that, despite a rich program, the actual content was sparse compared to previous editions. It almost felt like the workshops were overly focused on selling services and consulting, with a commercial purpose that was too evident at the expense of the more broadly informative and in-depth character offered in the past. Moreover, compared to previous editions, other issues emerged: firstly, the significantly reduced number of complimentary tickets provided by the organization to sponsors for their clients. Secondly, the absence of a sponsor networking event, which was held the night before the event in past editions. Lastly, the inability to use external catering for lunch, to avoid concentrated crowds at peak hours. We look forward to the next edition of the Netcomm Forum with confidence, as the date has already been announced: the 20th edition will be held on April 15th and 16th, 2025, continuing to promote innovation and digital commerce in our country.
E-Business Consulting at the Netcomm Forum E-Business Consulting also attended this year as an exhibitor at stand L16 on the first floor. Over the two days, we explored new networking opportunities, offered personalized consultations, and provided advice on managing clients, applying lead generation, and organizing prize competitions in eCommerce projects. In this perspective, the Netcomm Forum remains a stimulating environment for sharing ideas and discussing new strategies.
