Below we will talk about the Audiweb Database planning tape by analyzing the total data of internet use referring to the month of January 2022, collected according to the Audiweb 2.0 methodology. adapted to the new cookieless scenario and compared with the data of previous months.
In January, internet users from Computers or Mobile (Smartphones and Tablets) reached 45 million unique users, equal to 76,3% of Italians aged 2 and over. 90,3% of the population surfed from Mobile - Smartphone and / or Tablet -, once again confirming the prevalence of the online audience from these devices.
Analyzing the data per average day in January, the total registered audience was 37 million unique users, an increase of 1,8% compared to the previous month and divided as follows: 33,6 million users surfed from Mobile, then Smartphone and Tabet, (equal to 77,9% of Italians aged 18-74) while 13,8 million users were online from Computers (equal to 23,4% of Italians aged 2 and over). Online time per person on the average day was around 2 hours and 28 minutes, which is 11 minutes longer than the previous month.
On the average day, the figure recorded a slight increase compared to the previous month, with slight differences dictated by age and lifestyles. In general, the total digital audience saw online 64,6% of men (18,56 million) and 61,2% of women (18,49 million).
Focusing on the use of online on the average day of January based on the different geographical areas, also in this case there was a slight increase in values compared to the previous month. Specifically, 65,3% of the population of the North West (10.3 million), 63,1% of the population of the North East (about 7,2 million), 63,2% of the Central area were online ( 7,4 million) and 60,5% of the South and Islands area (12,1 million).
Going into the details of the time spent depending on the gender and in the different age groups, we can see that men spent an average of 2 hours and 18 minutes online on the average day, therefore four minutes more than in the previous month, while women 2 hours and 38 minutes, or seventeen more minutes than in December. As regards the different age groups, on the other hand, the use of the internet in January saw 99,2% of the population aged 18-24 online; 99,1% of 25-34 years old; 98,2% of the 35-44 range; 97.3% of the 45-54; 92,1% of the 55-64 range and finally 46% of those over 65, all values in line with the previous month.
