On April 2014 the active users, that have connected at least once to Internet, seem to be around 28.9 million (27,5 million from computer and 17,2 million from mobile), with an average of 37 hours and 50 minutes per person (16 hours and 31 minutes from computer and 37 hours and 8 minutes from mobile).
Regarding to Internet’s audience in the average day it is reached 20,6 million of users (12,6 million from computer and 14,8 million from mobile) and the time spent in the average day is 1 hour and 46 minutes per person (1 hour and 12 minutes from computer and 1 hour and 26 minutes from mobile).
Trying to do a distinction between the sex, from the analysis appears that, always in the average day, 11,3 million of men are online (41,8% of men). Regarding to the women, in the average day, it appears that 9,3 million are online (34,3% of women). Anyway the women despite their number is lower than the men’s one, they remain with different devices online more longer than the men: 1 hour and 32 minutes in the average day and 40 hours and 12 minutes at month, against 1 hours and 21 minutes in the average day and 34 hours and 41 minutes at month for the men.
The age group most connected in the average day, is between 25 and 34 years old, the 66% (34% from computer and 58% from mobile) followed by the age group between 18 and 24 with 65% (27% from computer and 61% from mobile). We must notice that those age groups are the same groups that use the mobile more frequently: for the age group between 18 and 24 the data are 1 hour and 54 minutes in the average day and over 50 hours at month, while for the age group between 25 and 34 the data are 1 hour and 30 minutes in the average day and 39 hours and 47 minutes at month.
The computer’s audience reaches 42% while from mobile makes up 58%, precisely the 11,5% is the using of mobile browser while the 88,5% is for the applications mobile.
Analyzing the categories of web sites most visited from mobile, at the first placed we find the web sites or the applications related to the cellular world (99% of time is spent online). Then there are the general internet portals and communities (75%), the multi-category entertainment (71%), sites or applications useful for the jobs and the sharing (67%). The social networks instead are 62%.
In fact regarding to the use of the most relevant categories related to different themes, we find the consultation of the emails (85% of time is spent online) and the use of online news (79%).
