Online Advertising Italy April 2011

  • On a monthly basis in April 2011 there was a total increase of 26% compared to 2010.

Data on Internet advertising  revenues for January-April 2011 period have been published  and compared to the same period of 2010. On a monthly basis, in April 2011 there was a total  increase of 26% compared to 2010.

In the first quarter of 2011 in the observation panel  all advertising typologies, Display, Affiliate and Search are included. The data for this three categories record an increase by 10% between the same period 2010, with a total turnover of 217.2 million Euro.

Is important  point within the Display category the turnover of  Adv Video, that recording an increase of 82. 8%, compared to 2010 joined by mobile devices with an increase of 17.9%.

The federation chaired by Carlo Poss noted that "As of today Web sites with registered domain. it has exceeded 2 million, while are about 28 million Italians who claim to connect at least once a month to the Internet (+16% between last years). The current picture of the scenery of Italy maintains the steady growth of online advertising, whereby the web is now in second place after newspaper for  turnover volumes. In the near future we will see a growing use of information and multimedia content thanks to the growing success of smart-phones ( Italy is  in first place in Europe with 15 million units sold) and the world of tablet. The performance of video advertising and the growth of the budget on mobile platforms are very clear markers in this area. "
